Name: APPLETON RUM ADVENTURE
The Appleton Estate is one of the oldest and most revered Rum Factories in the Caribbean.
The plantation was in existence when the British captured the island in 1655. Appleton brand rum was established in 1749 and has long been considered one of the best brands in the world.
During World War II, they upped their production in order to replace whiskey, which was in short supply. As a result of their efforts, their blended rums became famous for their quality. I have yet to find a smoother and more reasonably priced rum than the Appleton Reserve or Extra (except for our 50 year aged Appleton at $5000 USD per litre).

YS was a land grant from Oliver Cromwell to two of his officers. We enter the plantation at the main gate and take a jitney pulled by a tractor to the falls, enjoying the close up view of a working plantation on the way.

Description: See the south coast and canoe down a crystal clear river to find three resident manatees. Jump in and snorkel with them. It is one unique experience. Their keeper feeds them so that we can view them up close and personal.
However, it is a long drive and the Manatees are wild animals. We normally see them, but can't guarantee that they will hang around and play with us. It is best to combine it with one of the south coast tours (Black River, YS Falls, Appleton Estate or Pelican Bar), or as part of a multi day tour around the country. So that if you don't get a great view of the manatees you will still have a fun day.
