Any day at Floyde's Pelican Bar is unique. It doesn't matter how many time you go. When I picked up Sean and Shawna for their tour there was a huge water spout out to sea. We tached it for a long time.

Coming from the Parottee Peninsula it is less than an ten minute boat ride in a classic Jamaican Canoe.

The bar itself rises out of the sea about half a mile off shore. Originally, Floyde, who crossed this reef daily when goig fishing decided he needed a bar so he and his fellow fishermen could stop for a drink in the afternoon on the way in from fishing.

He started bringing our one piece of driftwood every day. It took him about two years to build it originally. Once it was open for business his fishing buddies from Treasure Beach decided that bringing tourists from TB would be more profitable than fishing.

Pretty soon they were painting up their boats to be attractive and carrying guests 12 miles from TB.
I saw a bump out on the edge of the bay and drove out to the end of the peninsula and swam over to see what it was. I fell in love with it and Floyde immediately and we have been bringing guests ever since.

Sean and Shawna are in the water lazing around. Other guests come and go. Most of the people who find this bar are interesting themselves. Have run into movie stars and football heroes here.
