East of Ocho Rios lies a virtually undiscovered peninsula sticking up off the north coast of the island. Its volcanic origin is apparent in its black sand beaches and cliffs falling down to the sea. If you want to escape from all the restraints of civilization as you know it and relax with some charming people, it is a wonderful place to spend a day in Jamaica.

Choose from swimming and snorkeling on a deserted beach, hiking to your own private waterfall, or hiring a local canoe owner to take you exploring, fishing or whatever.

An old waterwheel from an ancient plantation still spans the river on the way to the falls
Contemplating how quickly the jungle takes over is a profound thing to do while hiking here. This old Aquaduct is about 300 years old and covered in strangler fig

Swim in and under the waterfall. I guarantee that we will have it all to ourselves. See our blog for more pictures: http://barrettadventuresjamaica.blogspot.ae/2015/04/how-to-honeymoon-in-jamaica.html
