Horizon Cottages, Bluefields Bay

Horizon Cottages have been featured in Caribbean Travel & Life: Jamaica's Hidden Coast.

If you are thinking vacationing in Treasure Beach, maybe you should be thinking Horizon Cottages on Bluefields Bay. All of the cottages, so prettily displayed on the seashore at TB, are very similar to Rasta Ranch and Sea Ranch. The advantage of Horizon is that the pricing is much more reasonable in these hard economic times. Bluefields has just as much charm as Treasure Beach and a better beach and reef on the property. Included in your rental is the free use of several kayaks to transport you to the reef. Sometimes we even see dolphins right in front of the jetty and cottages.

You will also have the added advantage of a much more personal involvement with those who are serving you. The yardmen are also fisherman and are more than happy to go to sea to get you very fresh fish and lobster, which they will prepare  with all appropriate side dishes and serve to you on your own veranda with the sun going down at just the right angle off the jetty and into the sea. Many say we have better sunsets than Rick's Cafe and I have to agree.

ROBERT'S RESTAURANT has just relocated from his disreputable shack across the street to a lovely, comfortable building about 20 metres down the road. He still offers the same incredible local fare at the same ridiculously low prices (very much unlike Treasure Beach where 'white mon's' prices are different from local prices).

                                         Guest's Jetty
So many people have thought they have found the new 'in' place at Treasure Beach, but in truth it is just the next Negril. Bluefields is the truly undiscovered Jamaica that is still unspoiled and spectacularly gorgeous. Celebrities who really know their way around stay in     Bluefields. We have hosted the likes of Anna Quindlen, Keanu Reeves, Jody Foster and many others who are looking for escape from the trampled path to the unbeaten path of the amazingly original, undiscovered and next generation place to be. Try it for yourself and you will be immediately addicted and like so many others, you will be making your reservation for next year as you leave regretfully this year.
